First Day Jitters Are Real

Anonymous Coy Gossip #102 · General

So I started my new job yesterday, and honestly, it was a bit of a rollercoaster. First off, the morning traffic got me so flustered that I accidentally poured milk into my coffee instead of creamer. It's funny how such a tiny mistake can make you feel like you've messed up your whole day. When I finally made it to work, I couldn't find my new office right away and ended up walking around for 15 minutes before spotting the little 'New Hire' sticker on a door near reception. Then came lunchtime, and I was too nervous to actually eat because what if everyone noticed how they had all these fancy salads and I just ordered the cheeseburger? So yeah, that burger got cold. And then there's this one coworker, let's call her Sarah, she’s really nice but she talks so fast I can barely keep up with her sentences! It’s like she’s on a mission to make me feel like an idiot who knows nothing about anything. Anyway, all of this is making me wonder: is everyone else feeling as awkward and confused as me? Am I just overreacting or do new jobs really come with a learning curve that stretches from morning til night? What are your tips for not embarrassing yourself on day one again? Or am I the only one who's ever felt like they accidentally drank their breakfast cereal before work?
