I Totally Swiped Dad's Snacks

Okay, so it wasn't exactly a huge deal. I mean, my little brother was crying for cookies and Mom said he had to wait 'til after dinner. But I couldn't handle his whining all afternoon, right? So I went into the kitchen when everyone else was out and snagged some Oreos from Dad's stash, you know, those big bag that looks like it’s just for him but we all sneak into sometimes. The thing is, every time my parents go to check on the snack situation in there, they always seem to find the evidence I leave behind. Like last week when Mom saw a couple crumbs under the couch and went wild trying to figure out who had broken our no-treats rule before dinner. I swear, it's like they don’t see me snatching snacks left and right all the time but as soon as a tiny crumb turns up, the spotlight is on me. But hey, at least my brother got his cookies and stopped crying, right? Now he thinks I’m some kind of hero for finding hidden treasure in the kitchen when everyone else thought it was off-limits. It’s petty, yeah, but honestly, sometimes a sibling needs to go rogue for the good of the family.
