i coded that bug on purpose

hey so this is a thing i did at work and i have been thinking about it alot because i dont know if im the asshole or not. we were working on this big project, its kinda my baby but there was this one part of the code where if i wanted to push things through for myself i could really easily just add my stuff in without asking anyone else. so i did and i thought maybe it would be okay because everyone is so busy with their own parts that noone would notice, and anyway we needed this thing done right? but then later on some of the team was looking at logs and they found out it was me who coded the bug intentionally to make stuff work my way faster. they brought it up in a meeting and i got kinda defensive, said it was just for one day and everyone would have been fine if they did their part as well but yeah now im thinking maybe i shouldnt have done that. its making me wonder how many times i cut corners or do things selfishly to get ahead, even at the cost of others' trust in me. not proud
