New Job Fumble

First day at my new job and I spent fifteen minutes trying to fix a paper jam in the printer, only to realize it was already fixed by IT before I even got there. How did I not notice the 'service completed' note? Analyzing now: is this a case of incompetence or just extreme nervousness?
