Forgot My Way Back Home Once Again...

So I moved to this big city for college...and getting around can be such a hassle. Yesterday, I had the best of intentions, like always, to learn my way home by heart. But then I got lost in thought during one of my favorite classes (yep, you know how that goes). Next thing I know, I’m wandering through some back alley thinking to myself... 'This is where I turned left before...' Only problem? It’s night time now and everything looks different. So I started walking randomly in circles...hoping to just stumble upon a familiar street sign or something. But then there was this guy who looked super suspicious (not the shady kind, just not quite my type), and he offered me directions. Of course, I could have easily said no...but what if I made him feel bad? And honestly, it was getting dark out and I didn’t want to call home too late at night for help either. So I took his advice and eventually found my way back using a route that’s probably not the safest but definitely memorable. I don’t even know how to explain this one on my college map anymore...and now my parents think maybe I should take the bus or something, but it feels like cheating somehow. Guess I’ll keep trying to get better at navigating...or just learn to own my late-night alleyway explorations for what they are. Sigh...
