I Pranked My Coworker During the Night Shift but It Was Totally Worth It

So here's my confession. I work night shifts at a small warehouse. We have this guy, let’s call him Dave, who always makes fun of me for being into Dungeons and Dragons. He thinks it's some childish thing that doesn't fit with a grown-up job like ours. Every time we have an extra half-hour before the truck comes to pick up our load, he insists on using it for a break instead of checking inventory or doing anything productive. It gets on my nerves every single night. Last week, there was this huge box labeled 'propaganda material' that came in with everything else. It was clear that no one would ever open it because who wants propaganda? So I decided to give Dave a little taste of his own medicine. I found an old cardboard sword from our D&D stash and put it inside the box, then sealed it up. Guess what happened? Right after midnight when Dave's shift started, he got curious about that box and opened it without thinking. As soon as he saw the cardboard sword, he let out this laugh so big I thought he was going to explode from trying not to show how much fun he was having making jokes at my expense all week. But here’s where things got interesting. While laughing, he said, 'Wow, that's a really cool prop.' Then, instead of continuing the usual teasing, Dave actually asked me if I'd seen any D&D games coming in recently and could show him some other stuff we might have around just for fun. So my prank backfired on me because it turned out to be an opening for us both to stop being so serious and start talking about something that made us genuinely happy. Now, Dave's even joined our after-work D&D sessions. People are starting to notice how much better we work together now too! Here’s my question: Was I the asshole here?
