The Grocery Run Lie

I moved to this new city two weeks ago and I've already lied to my neighbor about why I wasn't at the grocery store yesterday. She offered me a ride, but I told her I'd run into someone I needed to chat with instead of admitting I was too intimidated by all those unfamiliar aisles and labels to go alone. It's silly, I know, but hearing her say she'll 'come back tomorrow' made me cringe the whole way home.
