Moved To A New City And Lied About My Job

I recently moved to Seattle for a job that I haven't actually started yet. I lied to my new neighbors and told them I work at Microsoft just because it sounded impressive and felt safer than admitting the truth, that I'm freelancing from home while waiting to hear back about another gig. When someone asked me what my job was, I blurted out this fib before thinking twice. Now every time I see them, I feel like a fraud. It’s funny how important it is for us humans to categorize ourselves into neat little boxes based on work titles, isn't it? I wonder if they'll find out and think less of me when they do.
