The Echo of Childhood Laughter Fades
Anonymous Sneaky Imp #343 · General
I went to the park yesterday, thinking about old times. There were kids playing on the swings and slides where I used to take my grandkids years ago. But now, they're all grown up and have families of their own. It's hard seeing other children there without them. I brought a toy car that once belonged to one of my grandsons, hoping he'd see it and come over for a visit. Instead, the kids just thought it was strange. They laughed and pointed, but not in a way that made me feel included or remembered. It's been lonely lately since their visits became rare. Sometimes I catch myself talking to the stuffed animals we used to bring along as if they're still little again. The laughter and joy from those days echo softly now, like an old memory fading into silence.
