I Gave My Co-worker the Wrong Gift at Office Secret Santa

So here's my situation, I really feel bad about what happened. You know how we did that secret santa thing for the holiday season? Yeah, well I bought this really cool tech gadget thinking it was for John who loves gadgets. Thing is, I ended up giving it to Sarah by mistake, and she wasn't super into tech at all. She tried to act like it was okay, but I saw her face when I handed it over, it's clear she didn't get what she wanted or needed from the Secret Santa deal. I should have double-checked the names before buying anything fancy. John really did need a new charger for his phone and everything. But I just got so excited thinking about getting something cool, I didn't bother looking twice at who it was actually meant for. Now I feel like such an idiot at work. Sarah hasn't said much since then. She's been kind of distant the past couple weeks. Did I really mess things up this bad? I don't want to make a huge deal about it but... I just feel so guilty every time she walks by my desk. Maybe I should just tell her what happened and apologize properly instead of avoiding her all day? It's not like we're close or anything, more acquaintances really. But still, this doesn't feel right. Guess now I have to figure out how to make it up to her without seeming too weird about the whole thing. Maybe getting some flowers will help smooth things over? Idk, any advice on what an adult does in situations like this?
