I Keep It Clean For Them

Every day at work, I tell my patients that their room has been thoroughly cleaned when really it's just wiped down. The truth is we're understaffed and overworked; finding the time to do a full cleaning is near impossible. Yet, lying about it gnaws at me. It’s not a big lie, but telling them that every day feels like I’m deceiving them in a way they deserve better from. I hope once things ease up, we can actually give everyone the care and cleanliness they truly need.
