Grad School Blues

I swear, I just got here and it feels like I've been doing this forever. Last night, I stayed up till three am trying to finish an essay about some obscure theory in sociology that I don't even understand half of. And you know what? As I was hitting submit on my essay, a thought popped into my head, 'I really should have gone for that job offer back at the coffee shop.' It's funny how sometimes the simplest things sound so appealing when you're drowning in textbooks and late-night stress. But then again, maybe not so funny. It's just one of those moments where I'm not sure if grad school is right for me anymore, but going backwards seems even worse. Maybe it'll get better? Who am I kidding. Sometimes, the little crush on my lab partner feels like a tiny light in all this gloom, but he probably sees me as just another weird grad student with too many books.
