I Might Be the Asshole For My Brother's Old Lego Set

Anonymous Tipsy Gossip #213 · General

Hey everyone, so this is a weird story about my brother's old Lego set. I know it sounds petty and childish, but hear me out. It all started last week when we were cleaning up our childhood room to make space for some new furniture. We found this big box of my brother’s Lego sets from when he was little. He built an entire town with roads, houses, parks, the works, it was amazing. I remember playing with it a bit as a kid but never really building anything with it because I always thought it belonged to him and I shouldn’t mess with his stuff. Anyway, my brother’s been out of town for a couple weeks now visiting some friends. My parents have mentioned that he’ll be back soon, but who knows when exactly? So while cleaning up the room, my mom suggested we could sell or donate the old Lego sets since it looks like no one will use them anymore. That got me thinking: I've had this idea to build a small model of our town for a local charity event. It would be cool and something unique. Plus, having that Lego set from my brother would help make my project happen. But then again, isn’t it stealing? Shouldn’t his stuff belong only to him? So I did the most immature thing possible. Last night when no one was home, I quietly packed up those boxes of Legos and hid them in my closet with a big smile on my face, knowing that they would make my project so much better. But now...now I’m worried. What if he comes back early? He’s going to be mad, right? I know it was wrong but I thought about all the cool stuff I could do with them for charity and it felt like a good idea at the time. I don’t want my brother to find out or get angry with me. So here we are. Am I just being paranoid? Or am I really an asshole for taking his toys without permission? I guess I’ll have to wait until he’s home and see how this all goes down. For now, I’m going to keep building my little model town in secret, hoping for the best but bracing myself for the worst. Okay, venting session over! I need advice from anyone who has a big brother or sister about what to do here.
