Told a Small Lie to My Neighbor

Okay, so I know lying isn't the best thing in the world, but sometimes it just feels necessary. The other day, my neighbor's kid knocked over one of our flower pots, and I knew they did it because I saw them out there. Now, here’s where things get tricky: instead of telling their mom about it, which would have led to a lecture for her child and me having to clean up the mess, I just lied and said the wind must've knocked over the pot. It was such a small lie, but man, did it feel freeing at the time! No guilt, no hassle, and my flower pots were back in their place without anyone getting mad or upset. Is this something I'd do again? Probably if it means keeping everyone happy and avoiding unnecessary drama.
