Spending Big Bucks On Video Games

Okay, so this isn't exactly the kind of thing I thought I'd be doing in my 40s. I mean, sure, playing video games wasn't a problem back when they were just for fun and stress relief. But now it's like... I spend more on gaming than on vacations sometimes. And I'm not even talking about the latest consoles or fancy setups, I’m talking about all those new titles that keep popping up every month. It’s embarrassing because my friends know me as a thrifty person, always looking for deals and saving money. Yet here I am, spending hundreds just to get the latest game or season pass for something I love but don’t even need. My wife keeps joking that she should buy stocks in gaming companies instead of birthday cards! And yeah, it’s funny because everyone says 'play to your heart's content,' but when you’re not playing and all these bills are staring back at you... It’s like, who knew growing up could mean getting addicted to the pastime of my youth?
