Why Did I Do That?

So yesterday, I overheard two patients complaining about the hospital food. They were grumbling like it was a five-star restaurant menu, which really got under my skin because they forget we’re running on minimal staff and resources here. Instead of explaining how hard everyone is working, I secretly slipped their trays extra treats, cookies from home. Now everyone wants more extras, and I’m just trying to figure out why I felt compelled to play nice when all they did was complain. Oh well, at least it made a couple people’s day a little brighter.
