I Spy at Playtime

So today I was playing hide-and-seek with my kids, and as a joke, I hid behind this huge bookshelf thinking it would take them forever to find me. Big mistake! My five-year-old son immediately spots me thanks to the tiny peek of my shoe sticking out. He cheers like he won the lottery and runs off to tell his sister about her ‘big clue.’ Meanwhile, I’m stuck there for what felt like an eternity while they both declare war on every other hiding spot in the house. It made me realize that even though I may be the parent, sometimes I just can’t outsmart those sneaky little ninja eyes.
