My Messy Desk Warped My Sanity

So I've been working from home for a year now and my desk, man, it's like a snowball rolling downhill. It started with some papers, grew into a mountain of books and coffee mugs. Today, I tried to start work but everything just stared back at me, mocking my inability to organize. Went on a tangent there. My point was, I decided the only way to break through this chaos is by declaring a war on clutter. Just spent an hour cleaning up and now... now it looks like someone dumped a whole bookshelf onto it again. It's not just stuff piling up; my brain does too when I look at all this mess. Oh, speaking of brains, think the lack of oxygen due to all the papers blocking air circulation is affecting my judgment? Now back to reality: My new rule is one in, two out. If a new paper lands on that desk, something old has got to go.
