So here's the thing, my best friend Sam is super protective of me. Like, really, really protective. We've been close for years and she's got this idea in her head that everyone is out to get me or try to take me away from her. So when I started getting nervous about a new job opportunity that would mean moving across town, Sam went into overprotective mode. The other day, I was just at home, chilling with my comfy chair and my favorite pillow-cushion. It's got this soft fabric on the outside and fluffy stuffing inside, basically, it’s my cuddle buddy. And there I was, just relaxing and thinking about how to make things work for the new job, when Sam calls. 'Hey! Why do I feel like you're cheating on me with something?!' she says. 'What are you doing?' It's like, what is that? But then I tell her it’s my favorite cushion because it matches my room decor perfectly and makes me so relaxed. She starts asking all these questions about how close we are, as if the pillow was hitting on me or had secrets to spill. I tried to reassure Sam, but honestly, talking to a cushion is kinda funny, right? I guess she needed a little reality check and seeing her getting all worked up over a cushion helped. After that, whenever we chat about my job or life changes, it’s like the cushion is there with us too, reminding me to chill out and not take everything so seriously.
