So This Thing With My Night Shift Habit,

Okay, so here's the thing. I work at this cozy little bar downtown and it’s been my sanctuary for about a decade now. But tonight, as I was serving these two frat boys their third pitcher of beer, I swear they don't even sweat, something bizarre happened in my head that I can’t stop thinking about. It started with them ordering another round despite me politely asking if they needed to get home soon, you know, because it’s like 3 AM and I've seen too many DUIs on the street outside our little window corner spot. But then, for some reason, I found myself daydreaming about how much more fun my life would be without them here at all, or any customers for that matter. Like what if there was a secret way to make everyone just disappear after 10 PM? No more morning calls from my parents worried why I'm not home yet and no more awkward conversations with strangers pretending they don't need an extra shot or two of courage before proposing marriage to someone who clearly isn’t saying yes. It’s funny because, like, I love my job but sometimes it feels like a prison sentence after 10 PM. Then again, maybe that's just me being overly dramatic. Or am I the only one who thinks this way? Does everyone have these weird fantasies about making life easier by vanishing people from your schedule? And if not, what do you think is wrong with me for wishing my entire customer base could suddenly become intangible at a certain hour? Help!
