I'm a Messy Hoarder Parent
Anonymous Suspicious Snitch #224 · General
So here’s this embarrassing secret I’ve been keeping for way too long. My name is Sarah and I’m the mother of two boys, ages 4 and 7. Our house isn’t exactly tidy or organized to say the least. There are clothes everywhere, toys strewn about, and paper cluttering every surface, you get the picture. It all started when my youngest was a baby and he’d leave his onesies scattered across the floor after changing time. At first, I thought it would be quick enough just to move them out of the way, but as the months went by, more clothes kept appearing faster than I could put away. Before long, piles were everywhere. My kids’ toys became a bigger problem as they got older. You wouldn’t believe how much stuff comes with every new birthday present or outing to the store. They each have two bins of toys that are supposed to be rotated in and out weekly, but let’s face it, that system doesn’t last long. There's always something new and exciting for them that becomes their obsession until another one replaces it. I know I should do better; everyone comments about my house when they come over. And there are times where I feel like a complete failure as a parent because of all this mess, but then I realize we're still having fun as a family despite our chaotic home life. The kids love playing with their toys and clothes all around the house, so it’s hard to argue against letting them be free spirits. So yeah, that's my confession, messy mom who lets her boys make a ruckus in an untidy home every day. But hey, I'm not too worried; there are no broken rules without a little rebellion now and then.
