I may have stretched the truth a bit...

So there I was, sitting in my dorm room on what felt like one of those never-ending Tuesday nights. You know the kind, the ones where you've been studying for hours and your brain feels more like mush than anything else? Well, let's just say that studying took me out of my comfort zone and into the land of Netflix binge-watching. But here comes the problem: I had a big assignment due the next day. No worries though, right? Because when you’re desperate to catch up on your favorite show, you also get super creative with your time management... or so I thought at the time. The alarm went off early the following morning, and there was no way I could finish that paper by 10 am class. So, instead of facing the panic head-on, I called out sick to my professor. You know, just in case things didn’t go well... It wasn't exactly a lie about being ill; it was more like an excuse because I was feeling too sick with guilt over procrastinating. But here's where it gets funny (or cringeworthy). My roommate, Sarah, decided to check on me. She found me sitting upright in bed, fully dressed and staring at my laptop screen... which was open to a movie streaming page. Oops! Sarah said something along the lines of ‘Looks like you’ve been watching movies all night instead of sleeping!’ I tried to play it cool, pretending that I’d just gotten up early to work on class projects in bed, no Netflix involved. The next day when I finally managed to get back into classes (after doing my homework for real this time), there was a text from Sarah: ‘Just remember your lecture notes are no substitute for actual sleep!’. She’s been giving me that look ever since, you know the one where she thinks I’m an idiot but can't bring herself to say it out loud. So yeah, here I am, feeling guilty about my little fib and swearing off Netflix binges when there's homework due. Maybe I'll stick to just a couple of episodes instead next time...
