When I Snuck Ice Cream Before Bedtime Rules Were Set

I caught myself slipping the other night. I had just started enforcing a strict no-treats-before-bed policy to help my kids wind down and sleep better. But there was something about their pleading faces asking for just one scoop of vanilla that made me crack. So, when they were distracted watching TV, I grabbed the ice cream and left a small bowl on each kid's nightstand. Their little smiles before bed and the fact that they fell asleep easily afterward had me second-guessing if this was worth the guilt.
