my roommate is a real slob

so my roommate jake just leaves his stuff everywhere in our room. i know we have the talks about cleaning and not leaving dishes out but like it’s ridiculous. he never cleans up his messes or does anything to take care of the place. i’m trying to be chill but seriously, when he’s gone i spend all my time picking up after him. i keep thinking maybe i should just tell him i’m gonna start charging him for the extra cleaning supplies because otherwise it feels like he’s using me and not paying rent on a fair deal. i tried talking about it before but it didn’t help at all, just made us both upset and nothing changed. now every time i see his stuff out it makes my blood boil. i keep telling myself it’s not worth getting worked up over because we’re leaving school in a few months anyway but like, this is really annoying and i don’t know what to do anymore. so yeah that’s where things are at rn with jake the slovenly roommate. any advice on how to deal w him would be appreciated bc honestly i’m losing my mind over here.
