My Little Brother's Nickname Game

So I'm the oldest sibling in our family, and let me tell you, being a big sister comes with its perks, but also some unique challenges. One of those is trying to set an example for my younger siblings while still enjoying the fun stuff. My little brother, let’s call him Jake, has this thing where he gives nicknames to everyone in our family. It's mostly innocent and kind of cute, except when it turns into something that feels a bit too cheeky. The other day, we were all at home watching a movie together, and out of nowhere, Jake whispers loudly, 'I’m gonna call you 'Butterfly' from now on!' Now, I know he probably thinks it's funny and sweet because he’s only eight, but the truth is, I’ve had enough nicknames for my liking. I mean, it's not like anyone really uses them after the initial giggle fest, but still! It gets a bit old being 'Butterfly' or whatever silly name pops into his head next. Don't get me wrong, I love him to bits, but sometimes I wish he'd just call me by my actual name instead of all these nicknames that are meant to be endearing but can feel like an inside joke I'm not part of. Anyway, this confession is just a way for me to let out a laugh about it and maybe even get Jake to remember why it’s important to respect each other's feelings too.
