A Sibling's Small Deception...

As the oldest sibling, I've always tried to be honest with my family, but there was one time when I couldn't resist a little white lie. My younger sister had been complaining about the chores around the house, saying she didn't have time for them because of all her homework and extracurricular activities. Knowing that she would never get off easy if Dad saw how messy things were in our room, I decided to clean up after her without telling her. When Mom asked me later why everything was tidy, I told her my sister had finally stepped up... but really, it was just me doing the work as usual. It felt like a small victory at the time, but now that she's moved out for college and I'm the only one left here, I feel bad about not letting her do things on her own. Maybe if I hadn't lied back then, she'd have better housekeeping skills by now...
