Research Paper Ghostwriting Gone Wrong

So, I’m this grad student working on my thesis. My advisor is this super intense guy who’s always breathing down your neck about deadlines and progress. Anyway, I had a bit of a crisis with one of my chapters, where the literature review just wasn’t coming together as well as it needed to. So what did I do? Instead of admitting that, I decided to ghostwrite someone else's research paper instead, yeah, I know, classic move right? Well, long story short, I sent this paper off thinking it was going to be like a little detour from my own work. Of course, it turns out the professor had seen my style and recognized something fishy when they got back their assignment with all this beautifully crafted writing that wasn’t quite them, talk about awkward. Now I’m in a bit of hot water with both my thesis project and an ethics violation. Guess I’ll have to own up to it, but man, what was I thinking?
