Moving Isn't Easy When I'm Scared

I've been in this new city for just over a month now, and honestly, it's not going as well as I hoped. I thought moving would be exciting, seeing all these new faces, but what I didn't count on was feeling so lost and scared every single day. My job is okay, but the commute feels like an endless maze of unfamiliar streets. And don't even get me started on trying to make friends, I joined a couple of meetups hoping to bond over shared interests, but most people seem to already know each other or are just there for the free snacks and coffee. Every time I go back home, it's like stepping into a place where everything is comfortable and familiar, only to be thrown back into this strange world where I feel out of place and unsure about my future here. It's hard admitting how much I miss the simplicity of being back at the old house, with all its little quirks and routines that felt normal. But moving was a big decision I made for myself, so I know there's no going back now, I just wish I could find some way to make this place feel like home without losing my sense of self.
