dad's favorite kid lie

so like my sis is always getting attention from our parents and i feel left out. one day she got a gold star for spelling something right or some dumb thing, and my mom was so proud of her. next thing i know, i'm in the kitchen and there's a bag of cookies on the counter. i didn't think much of it at first but then later when i snuck into their room to look for comics and saw them eating those cookies from the living room tv, just hanging out together. so then that night after they went to bed i decided to take one as my little rebellion against their favorite kid stuff. i put this cookie under my pillow to hide it, thinking no one would find out but man did i mess up. first day at school the next morning my nose was running and i had a cough going on from like eating too many sweets last night before bed, i woke up with that runny nose and started coughing when mom came in to check if i was okay for school. mom gets all concerned right away and goes off to get me some tea and lemon honey for my throat, but then a few minutes later she comes back and looks at me really weirdly and asks if it's just the beginning of a cold or did i maybe eat something that didn't agree with me last night. at first i was like omg what am i supposed to say to this?? so i told her it must be allergies, but she knows my allergies aren't acting up right now. then after school today my sis is all over mom about why the cookies are gone and how she wanted one for dessert tonight. mom looks at me and asks if anything weird happened last night while she was sleeping or around breakfast time this morning, like did i eat something that wasn’t food or something silly like that. so now here we are with my parents looking at me all day and the whole family drama about a cookie mess. i feel bad but also kind of relieved because they're not just focusing on sis for once.
