The Prank That Went Too Far...

Okay, so I'm going to tell you guys this story because it's been weighing on my mind and I need someone to talk about it with. Last week, me and my best friend Jake decided to play a prank on our classmate Sarah during lunch. We thought it would be funny if we filled her locker with pink slime...or at least the fake kind from the dollar store. So here's what happened: We bought this slimy goop stuff in pink and I snuck into school early to hide it in her locker before everyone got there. When she opened it, there was a big gooey mess everywhere...and she freaked out. She told our teacher Mrs. Johnson who made us clean up the whole thing during recess. We were supposed to be planning an awesome prank but instead we just got detention for being immature and stupid. The weird part is I felt kind of bad afterwards, you know? It wasn't like Sarah had ever done anything mean to us before. She's actually pretty cool and funny. Maybe that's why she cried a little when all her stuff was covered in slime...that made me feel really guilty. But then Jake said we'd just have to do something bigger next time so it wouldn't matter this one time, like make the whole hallway smell bad or something. So here I am, two weeks later still feeling conflicted about how we treated our friend. On the one hand I know getting in trouble wasn't fun and it's not worth hurting someone to prank them. But on the other hand Jake is my best bud and he thinks being a super annoying goofball is just what makes him awesome. And he says if I'm his partner-in-crime we'll be legendary. Do you think I should tell him I don't want to do any more pranks...or just go along with it? What would YOU have done in my shoes? Ellipses all over the place because this is eating me up inside and I need advice before Jake convinces me to pull something else off. Let me know what you think and if you've been there yourself!
