Living Alone for the First Time...It's Crazy!

So I've been at college now for two months, and it's wild how much freedom this place gives me. No one to tell me what time to be home by...no one nagging about my laundry or dishes. It's amazing! But sometimes...sometimes when everyone is sleeping and the whole dorm is dark and quiet...I get really homesick. I start thinking about how mom used to make dinner every night, and dad would always tuck us in with a bedtime story. Now it's just me here...and some random guy snoring down the hall...haha. So my question is: do other people feel this way? Is this normal to suddenly miss home like crazy at times? It feels kind of weird because one moment I'm loving all the independence and then the next, I want nothing more than to call mom just for a chat. What's up with that? Am I going crazy...or is it totally okay?
