I Took One For The Team Tonight

Tonight, I did something that might seem a bit petty to some folks. So let me lay it out for you in short and simple sentences 'cause that’s how things get done around here: John from the kitchen, he's always giving me grief over my bartending skills. He thinks he’s better than everyone else, honestly. Anyway, tonight, there was this huge fight between the servers about who gets to open with what drinks on happy hour specials. I stepped in and said I’d take care of it all if John would just shut up for once. So I ordered myself a round of shots that I knew he'd think were from one of my best customers. He came over, all proud and stuff, telling everyone how I was closing out the night early with this big order. Truth is, they're lined up right here on my desk, unopened and waiting for him to leave so I can throw them in the trash. It’s not exactly a huge deal, but it felt good to one-up that jerk tonight.
