White Lie in the Morning

Every morning when my younger sister complains that our mom won't make her pancakes for breakfast, I fib and tell her I asked Mom already and it's not happening today. It feels petty because she'll usually just come to me after and ask if I got a yes or no anyway, but I enjoy the momentary satisfaction of saying 'no' when she needs something from Mom.
