New Hobby Blues

I started knitting this week and it's kind of sad because I've been so busy with work lately. You know how it is, just constantly pushing through emails and meetings all day long. But then I found out about this local yarn shop near my office that has these really cool workshops for beginners, and thought why not? It seemed like a good way to decompress after all the stress of client calls and project deadlines. Knitting, you know, it's supposed to be relaxing, right? The idea was great but when I got my hands on those needles... Man, it felt weird. Like my fingers were in a fight with each other trying to figure out how to just hold two pieces of metal together. I kept dropping stitches and ending up frustrated. I mean, sure, you can watch a video tutorial or read some blog posts about knitting techniques. But there's something comforting about actually sitting down and doing it face-to-face in a group, learning from others' mistakes alongside your own. And that yarn shop has this cozy vibe, the lighting is soft and everything smells like wool. But yeah, back to my frustration. I just wanted to unwind and create something beautiful with my hands. Instead, all I've got are these unfinished projects sitting in a corner of my apartment. It makes me feel like I'm not good at much beyond my day job. Maybe next week will be better? Or maybe it's time for a break from knitting altogether. Anyway, anyone else ever tried to pick up a new hobby after having too many deadlines on your plate?
