Why Can't I Stop Crafting When My Hands Are Messy?
Anonymous Bold Flirt #798 · General
So a couple of weeks ago, my friend Lily dragged me to a local crafting workshop. At first, I was skeptical because I thought it would be like those arts-and-crafts tables from elementary school, paper-mache and glitter and all that stuff I hated as a kid. But it turned out to be way cooler than I expected! We made these beautiful hand-painted plant pots, and everyone seemed so enthusiastic about it. It was surprisingly fun, and my pot came out really neat too. But here’s the thing: ever since then, I can’t stop thinking about crafting stuff. Every time I see fabric or paint brushes at a store, I get this sudden urge to buy them all home and make something...anything. The problem is, I’ve been procrastinating on my room cleaning for weeks now because whenever I start cleaning up the mess I made while crafting (which is a huge mess of scraps and unused materials), I just want to craft more! It’s like once I get started, I can’t stop. I asked Lily about it, hoping she’d laugh it off as just beginner’s excitement. She said something like 'maybe it’s your creative side coming out,' but that didn’t really help me feel any less awkward about it. Does anyone else deal with this? Am I the only one who finds it hard to balance a new hobby and everyday cleanliness? Should I just give up on cleaning my room for now or is there some trick to juggling both things without getting overwhelmed?
