Got Caught in the Lie

I recently got caught fibbing to my boss. I had promised to stay late for an extra meeting but then a friend invited me to a concert that night, and the tickets were super limited, you know? So, I texted back saying something about having to run errands instead. But when I saw her in person later, she called me out on it, mentioning how one of my colleagues had seen me at the venue online. At first, I felt awful and tried to brush it off, but then I realized everyone has their moments of weakness. Plus, she gave me a warning rather than chewing me out over it. So yeah, here's to learning that honesty is the best policy, next time.
