i overreacted big time

so this is about my sister elena and her kids. i know its been a long time since i was in charge of babysitting them but there's this one thing that keeps bothering me. so last week, she asked if i could take care of the twins for the afternoon while she went to pick up their older brother from soccer practice. seemed simple enough. they’re cute and all but boy do they like to run around and make a mess. by 3pm we had paint splatters everywhere, juice on the carpet, and legos stuck in weird places. i was getting more stressed than them because i have hardwood floors that need replacing after everything this weekend. anyway at one point the phone rings and its elena saying she's running late and wont be back for another hour. i dont like when plans change last minute so my mood dropped, big time. instead of telling her calmly what was going on i go off - yelling that it wasn't fair to dump this on me, especially without warning. then i get worse and say they can stay with their aunt jenny next time if its too much work for me, which is mean because she's been a lot better about things lately. after i hang up though i feel terrible - yelling at my sister over the phone like that is just not me. \\n but the thing eating away inside me is feeling bad but also knowing there are times i do take on too much without asking for help and maybe being fair to others when they're in charge of something hard. i've been trying to sort this out all week, wondering if elena ever heard any of it or how much she thought i was mad at her.
