I Told A Tiny Lie About My Homework

Anonymous Cheeky Gossip #573 · General

Okay, so here's the thing. I know my mom said that being honest is the best policy and all, but sometimes it just feels easier to tell a teeny-tiny lie than the whole truth. So, today in science class, we got this really long worksheet on plant biology. It was due at the end of the week, and when I got home from school, my mom made me clean my room first before I could even look at it. By the time I finished cleaning, dinner was almost ready, and then there were chores to do after that! So, I ended up telling Mrs. Johnson yesterday in class that I forgot to bring my homework because my pet rabbit had gotten out of its cage and was hopping around loose all night long. It's not exactly a lie because the rabbit did escape once before, but it wasn't last night at all! I felt bad about fibbing, but honestly, looking at that worksheet right now makes me feel even worse. Maybe next time I'll try to be more honest with myself and just say, 'I didn't have time to do my homework because I was super busy with everything else.'
