I'm a Boss at Office Gossip

So I've got this thing that I know people say isn't the best trait to have in a professional setting, I love office gossip like it's my job. Whenever someone is out sick, I immediately start asking around for updates on their health and work status as if I’m doing an investigative report. Everyone thinks I care deeply about them, but let’s be real: I just can't resist the thrill of being in the know. The funny thing is, my team respects me a lot because they see me as someone who cares about everyone's well-being. But really, I'm just great at getting information and keeping it all under wraps. So yeah, I've got this reputation for being super reliable, but deep down, I’m actually kind of like the town crier in our office. Now here’s my question: is this a problem? Should I be more focused on work stuff instead of all these silly personal updates? Or am I just a good people person and keeping everyone connected?
