The Cookie Jar Heist

I recently told my kids that Santa put an extra batch of their favorite cookies in the cookie jar last night. In reality, I had secretly stashed them there when they weren't looking after a long day and needing something sweet to keep me going. It felt like a tiny victory in the moment but now I'm starting to question whether this lie will come back to haunt me. Do they really need another sugar rush before bed or am I overthinking this?
