I Spilled Coffee All Over My Boss's Expensive Shoes

So, I worked this one time in the finance department of a big corporation. You know how everyone has to dress up and pretend everything is super serious all day long? Yeah, not my thing. But I was good at what I did, and the paychecks kept coming, so why fix what ain't broken, right? Well, one morning I had this brilliant idea: coffee-flavored chewing gum. I figured it'd be a game-changer for those moments when you need your caffeine boost on the go but don't want to risk spilling hot java all over everything. But in my eagerness to try out the new flavor, I didn't notice the cup sitting right there next to me while talking with the boss. Next thing I knew, he was asking what the squishy sounds were coming from under his feet, and when he looked down, he saw coffee dripping into the corners of his pricey Italian leather loafers. Total mortification for him, but also a weird kind of hilarious in hindsight. To be fair to me, though, those shoes could use a good cleaning anyway. I tried to laugh it off as an accident, and technically, that's what it was! But yeah, let’s just say I don't think I’ll ever forget the look on his face or how the smell of coffee filled our meeting room. If anything, it made my coworkers giggle for weeks afterwards.
