I Started Knitting... Silently Laughing Inside

So I started knitting this week ... It's not like I thought it was going to be easy or anything, but I really didn't expect it to be THIS hard. Like, my grandma can knit a scarf in her sleep ... and I'm struggling with just making the first row straight. But every time someone looks at me curiously when they see my yarn ball, I just smile and nod like everything's fine. And then after class or work, I sit by myself in the corner of the library with my knitting needles trying to figure out what went wrong ... Today I accidentally knit a pink sock as a hat because I couldn't tell where my project ended and my new one began... It was hilarious but also super embarrassing. Maybe I'll stick with cross-stitch for now? ...
