When I Pranked My Co-Worker With Funny Hats

So today at work, something funny and slightly naughty happened. You know how sometimes you just want to make someone smile because they've been so stressed? Yeah, that's the story here. Our team has a new intern who is super serious about everything, always in these boring business suits. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with them, but it's like he forgot how to have fun. Anyway, yesterday, we were all having lunch together and one of my coworkers mentioned she bought some really silly party hats the other day for a birthday party that got canceled because of the weather. They were these big floppy things with bunny ears and mustaches, really funny looking stuff. I said it would be fun if our intern saw them. So this morning, when he left his desk to get coffee, I quickly switched out all his folders and notes for hats. And just as I finished my little setup, he came back in. He was so confused and a bit angry at first, like why are there party hats everywhere? But then one of the other guys grabbed a hat and put it on, and that broke the ice. After everyone was laughing and joking around, even our intern started to loosen up. It’s funny how something so silly can make such a big impact, isn’t it? I mean, I know pranking someone is not exactly professional, but sometimes you just need a little fun in the office.
