i'm proud of how i handled this

ok so here's what happened with the neighbor kid today. he came over to play with my kids but was being super annoying and bossy, taking all their toys and telling them what to do. i tried talking to him nicely first like a good parent but nothing worked. it got to a point where my kids were in tears and begging me to make him go home. so what did i do? i told the kid if he didn't stop his crap right then, there'd be consequences. he just laughed at me and kept going on with his annoying ways. that's when i pulled out some play dough from under the couch. see, my kids don't like play dough because it gets stuck in their hair and makes a mess everywhere but this neighbor kid loves it more than anything. i told him if he didn't stop being mean to my kids right now, i'd throw every single ball of play dough at him and give it to the dog. his eyes got big and wide then he quickly turned around and ran straight home without a backward glance. my kids cheered and said thanks mom! and we all had fun for the rest of the day without that kid bothering us again. i know some people might think i overreacted or should've handled it differently but honestly, what else was i supposed to do? he was ruining our time and making my kids cry. if that's being a bad parent then so be it, at least my kids were happy.
