I Gave My Kids Too Much Candy Last Halloween

So last Halloween was crazy, right? We had more trick-or-treaters than usual and my kids were so excited. I didn't want to ruin it by saying no candy, but honestly, now that they're old enough for too much sugar, I feel like I kinda made a mistake. They got mountains of candy from all the neighbors and then there was this one house with these big tubs of stuff. I mean, we were already in over our heads, right? And then what do you think I did? I let them pick out more because they had such cute costumes and I couldn't say no to those little faces. Fast forward a couple days, my kids are bouncing off the walls like they drank Red Bull or something. They're fighting all the time over who gets to eat the next piece of candy, and now we're at this point where if I take away one lollipop, there's crying. It was all supposed to be fun, but honestly, I feel pretty guilty for not being stricter about it. Did I just make a mess out of our Halloween or is everyone else dealing with this too?
