The Great Milk Sock Incident

Okay, so here's a story I need to confess. It happened about two weeks ago when my little brother was over at our place after school and he really wanted chocolate milk but we were out of the fridge kind. Now, you'd think it wouldn't be that big of a deal, right? Just run down to the corner store real quick or make him wait until dinner time when mommy will bring home groceries from work. But nope! I'm not one for doing things the easy way. So instead of getting milk, I had this great idea (which in hindsight was not so great), using a sock as a makeshift cup to hold his chocolate milk. Yes, you heard that right, a sock. The reasoning? It would be easier than going out to get more milk and it could soak up any spills if he knocked the glass over while drinking. So I put a bunch of chocolate powder in the white sock, tied the top with some string from my backpack, and added water to make it all dissolve into 'milk'. I thought I was pretty clever. But then... I had this moment where I realized: what if he gets sick? What if he thinks it's normal milk and drinks too much of it because he's really thirsty? I spent the next hour pacing around my room, worrying about whether I should tell him or not, wondering if my mom would be mad at me. In the end, though, he drank his 'milk', said it was good, played a bit more before heading home and everything seemed fine. Now here's where I have to admit something: there’s this tiny part of me that feels both guilty and excited about not telling him right away. Sure, it wasn't exactly honest, but it felt like solving his problem instantly in the moment, which is pretty cool if you ask me. But now when he comes over next time, I don’t know what to do, do I spill the beans or pretend nothing ever happened? It's just such a small thing, yet it’s eating away at my mind.
