Knitting Is So Not Me

I started knitting a month ago when my grandmother gave me this giant ball of yarn for my birthday. She's always trying to get me into her hobbies, thinking it'll make us closer or something. I never thought I'd say this, but I've been secretly struggling with the whole thing. I picked up some basic patterns and tried to follow them, but every time I sit down to knit, I feel like a complete novice again. Today, I was working on this scarf and accidentally dropped half of it into the washing machine while I was loading clothes. My mom found it twisted in the lint trap, and needless to say, she wasn't happy with my choice to turn her dryer into a yarn catcher. Still, I'm determined to keep trying because maybe, just maybe, I'll actually enjoy this someday.
