... I Lied About My Laundry ...

So yeah... this is kinda silly but it's been eating away at me a bit. First week of college here and things are still pretty new, you know? Trying to fit in, make friends, all that jazz. So I joined the campus laundry group chat because, well, everyone else seemed to be doing it and I figured, 'why not?' The chat is mostly people sharing tips on how often to wash your sheets or whether using fabric softener really does anything. It's actually kinda helpful sometimes... but also a bit overbearing. So yesterday this chick named Dani sends out a message asking if anyone has ever tried hanging their laundry outside instead of using the dryers. She's looking for an alternative 'cos she says the smell from those things is terrible. I don't really have any strong feelings about outdoor drying... but I didn't want to seem like I was on the outskirts, ya know? So I sent a message back saying that yeah, I've tried it before and it works great. No problem at all. The truth is though... I can barely do my own laundry here without burning something (accidentally or otherwise) so outdoor drying isn't exactly in the cards for me any time soon. But now everyone's talking about trying it out too! Dani even asked if anyone wants to do a group outdoor dry sometime. And I feel like such an idiot... what have I done? Is this really that big of a deal though? It's just laundry, right? ... I mean, part of me is worried they'll figure out the truth and think less of me for it but then another part wonders if anyone would even care. Am I being too sensitive here? What do you guys think...
