A Boring Week of Pretending to Work Hard
Anonymous Suspicious Flirt #760 · General
It's been a particularly dull week at work. My tasks are simple and repetitive, so I spend much of my day on social media or online shopping. To avoid the prying eyes of my manager, every time she walks by, I quickly switch to pretend productivity. For instance, typing out random words in a document as if I'm deep into something important. I feel a bit guilty about this but also helpless because there's no real way for me to improve unless I take on more responsibility, and that seems like a big risk right now.
I know I should be doing better, making my own opportunities, but it feels like everyone else is already ahead and moving faster than I can. Maybe I'll turn over a new leaf tomorrow or next week. For today though? I'm sticking to the old 'fake it till you make it' strategy.
