The Great Pillow Fight War of 2023

I've always tried to be the calm and collected parent, the one who sets a good example for my kids. But last year, when they were having a particularly nasty argument over whose turn it was to clean their room, I cracked. There was this pillow fight war that erupted out of nowhere, and let me tell you, I got right in there with them! We tore up the living room like wild animals, laughing and shrieking. When I finally sat down to catch my breath, I realized how much better everyone felt. It wasn't just about who won or lost; it was a way for us all to get our frustrations out without any real consequences beyond sore arms. So yeah, maybe it wasn’t exactly parenting 101, but you know what? If it keeps the peace and makes them happy, I’m going right back for another round anytime.
